Construction Along N 23rd Street

As many LSNA members are aware, there are four ongoing construction projects along 23rd St. It’s a lot of activity, bringing an increase in trucks, and at times street closures or restrictions. Driving along 23rd Street may take longer during the workday for the next 60 days, so using an alternate street may save you time. Starting next week, a limited number of on street parking spaces will be temporarily unavailable.

Edgewater (23rd & Summer Streets): On Monday, May 23rd and continuing into July, Edgewater will be offloading the modules that will make up the building. During business hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM), 23rd Street will be limited to one lane for a short stretch, adjacent to the new building. “Temporary No Parking” signs (4 spaces) will be posted in the section. Similarly, 5 parking spaces in the 2300 block of Race Street (by Riverside Presbyterian Apartments) will be posted “Temporary No Parking.” For safety purposes, there will be a flag man to manage traffic exiting off the I-676 ramp at 23rd Street. Residents pulling out of their garages, next to the project, can ask the contractor to assist with backing out for additional safety. If you are a near neighbor and have questions, please contact Dennis Boylan, (215) 815-3535 or dj.boylan2@gmail.com.

23rd & Cherry Streets: Construction is well underway. 23rd Street will continue to be limited; at times to one lane, for the stretch adjacent to the project.

Riverwalk South Tower: Yesterday, the last glass panel went into place for this building. The south tower already has tenants, even as the upper floors are still being finished. 23rd Street is limited to one lane alongside this construction.

Morgan, Lewis and Bockius (23rd & Market Streets): This project is just over the LNSA boundary, but construction vehicles are using 23rd Street to access it.
