From the Philadelphia Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (Otis) Vision Zero Task Force:
We are looking for outgoing and motivated people to become Vision Zero Ambassador We are looking for outgoing and motivated people to become Vision Zero Ambassad s this spring and summer and help spread the word about Vision Zero and traffic safety among their friends, neighbors, and groups they are part of. Vision Zero Ambassadors will be the voice of their community around traffic safety issues. Vision Zero Ambassadors will also help create Vision Zero messages and activities that resonate with their communities.
The Vision Zero Ambassador Program helps motivated community members share traffic safety information with their friends and neighbors. The annual program recruits, trains, and supplies ambassadors with materials. Then they attend meetings and events over the summer, answering questions and sharing what they have learned.
This year, Vision Zero ambassadors will also help shape the Vision Zero Action Plan 2025-2030. This document will guide Philadelphia’s traffic safety initiatives through the end of the decade. As an ambassador you will directly inform the goals, strategies, and actions that will help us achieve zero fatalities on our roadways.
Selected ambassadors are expected to attend an evening onboarding session on either Tuesday, March 25 or Thursday, March 27 and a daytime in-person training session on Friday, March 28 at the annual Vision Zero Conference at Temple University. During these sessions, ambassadors will be trained on traffic safety concepts, Vision Zero, and the resources that are available within the City. They will also receive support and guidance from City staff during their ambassador engagement period (May-September 2025). For their time and effort, Vision Zero Ambassadors will receive a stipend of $1,750 upon completion of the program. People who are well-connected to lower-income communities and communities of color are encouraged to apply! Applicants must be 18 years or older.
The application will close at midnight on Monday, February 24.
