Purpose

LSNA liaises with Logan Square Town Watch, a chapter of the independent Philadelphia Operation Town Watch organization, whose volunteers support the work of the Philadelphia Police Department.*

The Logan Square neighborhood is generally very safe. Please join Logan Square Town Watch and help keep it that way. Town Watch is also a great way to get some exercise, get to know the area better, and meet your neighbors. No one from Logan Square Town Watch will EVER knock on your door, whether to solicit money or for any other reason. Over the years, there have occasionally been reports of individuals falsely claiming to be a Town Watch member or "community representative" and trying to collect money. Please call the police immediately if anyone knocks on your door claiming to be a representative of Logan Square Town Watch.

Holiday Trash Alert

Please note that, as a result of the Veterans' Day holiday, which falls on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, trash will be collected one day late for the remainder of the week. Please visit the Health & Safety Committee's Resources page for links to the Streets Department's holiday schedule and other sanitation-related information.

Q&A Session with Captain Dennis Wilson - Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Captain Wilson of the Ninth Police District will be available to answer questions from the Logan Square community. The Q&A session will take place in the regular LSNA meeting space in the Academy's cafeteria, which is accessible through the rear entrance on 19th Street, just north of Cherry Street. (The LSNA board meeting will start at 7:30 p.m in the same room.)

Holiday Trash Alert

Please note that, as a result of the Columbus Day holiday, which falls on October 13, 2008, trash will be collected one day late for the remainder of the week. Accordingly, pick-up normally scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2008 will now take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, and pick-up normally scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2008 will now take place on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Please consult the Streets Department's holiday schedule for further information and the Health & Safety Committee's Resources page for additional sanitation-related links and information.

Please join the Health & Safety Committee for its October meeting on Monday, October 13, 2008 at CityView, 2001 Hamilton St., North Garden Room. (Please note that the Committee usually meets on the first Wednesday of every month but that the October meeting was rescheduled.)
