Please note that the M L King (a k a West River) Drive will now be closed for recreational purposesevery Saturday and Sunday morning until 12 noon thru October 31, 2008.  As we are now in full Regatta Season on the Kelly Drive, that road will periodically close for the larger events, on most weekends in April and May. Look for detours and traffic delays when exiting or entering the City on Saturday and Sunday mornings thru Fairmount Park drives (Kelly, MLK and Ben Franklin).  From the Health and Safety Streets Committee.

April 22nd is election day and the primary races for our State Senator and House Representatives are in full swing. As part of our mission, LSNA promotes civic education and engagement in the political process. Through our participation in the Philadelphia Neighborhood Alliance and Cross Town Coalition we want to invite you to attend two candidate forums this week where you can meet the candidates for office and ask questions.


PNA Holds "Ask the Candidates" Night

First Senatorial District and State House for the 175th & 184th Districts

Date: Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM

Location: The Independence Seaport Museum
211 South Columbus Boulevard and Walnut Street

The forum will provide the community an opportunity to hear from the candidates running for the First Senatorial District seat which has been held by Senator Fumo and candidates running for the State House in both the 175th (Rep. O'Brien) and the 184th (Rep. Keller) Districts.

The Forum is free and open to the general public. Free parking has also been arranged for this event in the parking lot next to the museum.
