Walking and Biking Tour: Friday, March 15, 3:00 - 5:00 PM Vision Zero Conference: Saturday, March 16, 10:00 - 4:00 PM WEEKEND SCHEDULENORTH PHILADELPHIA WALKING AND BIKING TOURFRIDAY, MARCH 15TH, 3-5 PMThis tour will visit several Vision Zero projects. The tour will commence at the Girard and Broad Street intersection to view planned N. Broad median improvements. The bike tour will start at the Indego bike share station to view the Yorktown 13th Street protected bike lane, the TIGER sponsored American Street construction project, plans for new bike facilities on Germantown and Master Streets, and Spring Garden Street to discuss current planning for the new greenway. This tour is weather dependent. Resource guidance will be provided by Kelley Yemen (oTIS), Jeannette Brugger (oTIS), Waffiyyah Murray (oTIS), Darin Gatti (Streets) and Kathryn Drake (PWD). Indego bikes will be available to participants for those who won’t have their own personal bikes! Lightning round discussion with photos/videos of daily commutes.
12:00 – 12:45 PM: Philly! You are not alone: Vision Zero is hard for all cities Lunch presentation by Veronica O. Davis, introduced by Christopher Jandoli (WSP) Veronica O. Davis is the founder and co-owner of Nspiregreen LLC and founder of Black Women Bike DC. At Nspiregreen, she is responsible for managing the Multimodal Transportation and Community Planning projects, which include surface transportation planning, policy development, and long-range planning. She was the Principal-in-Charge for the Vision Zero Action Plans for the District of Columbia and the City of Alexandria in Virginia.
