City officials will begin closing streets near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and in the Fairmount neighborhood on Aug. 30 to allow for construction of a venue for the Made in America music festival on Labor Day weekend, Mayor Nutter's office announced today.

The closures will continue through Sept. 3, the day after the festival ends, to accommodate the breakdown of the venue.

The mayor's office released details of the event Monday afternoon, warning motorists to expect delays and use alternate routes before and during Labor Day weekend.
