Sister Cities Park is Now Open!

posted Apr 11, 2021, 10:34 AM by David Cardy
Sister Cities Park is ready for spring. The fountain is running, the café has opened, and the flowers are blooming.

The Sister Cities Café, a convenient stop for coffee, snacks, and takeaway fare, has reopened for the season. Outdoor seating with a great view of play areas and a variety of menu offerings make it the perfect place for parents and kids to fuel up. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Limited indoor dining is also available, in accordance with the City’s health regulations.
The park’s Earth Fountain now operates from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Children can splash and play in the area while parents relax under umbrellas. Park guests over the age of 2 are required to wear masks at all times, unless they are actively eating or playing in the fountain.
The Children’s Discovery Garden remains open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Inspired by Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Valley, the space inspires young visitors to explore nature in an urban setting. Center City District made additions to this area of the park in 2020, including a hiding nest and a climbing net.
The big log is still in place for a few more weeks. The Boat Pond will reopen later this month. Visit SisterCitiesPark.org to learn more.
