Road Closures Around PECO Bldg - March 6

posted Mar 5, 2021, 1:35 PM by David Cardy
Good afternoon,

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Jose Aguirre and I serve as Government Affairs Manager for PECO. As part of ongoing efforts to upgrade our facilities, PECO will be installing two, new cooling towers at our downtown Philadelphia headquarters located at 2301 Market Street on Saturday, March 6, 2021. If you are receiving this email, it is because you or your organization may be a stakeholder for this event. As the cooling tower equipment will be installed on the roof of the building, a helicopter will be used to facilitate delivery of the equipment and materials.

To safely perform this work, street closures surrounding the building will be in effect throughout the day on Saturday. Specific street closures include:

  • Market Street, between 22nd Street and 30th Street
  • 23rd Street from Arch and Market Streets

Access will be limited to the building and nearby surrounding areas during the equipment installation process. Please notify your employees, tenants, or organizations of this activity as appropriate. Police will be onsite directing and the street closures will begin at 5:00 am and terminating by 10:00 am.

In case of inclement weather, PECO has scheduled Sunday, March 7, 2021, as the alternate date to complete the installation of the cooling towers.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sandra Peterman at

Thank you for your cooperation.
