Philadelphia, August 27, 2014- The City of Philadelphia released details for the 2014 "Budweiser Made in America" music festival - an exciting, two-day music extravaganza during Labor Day weekend. Nowin its third year, the event will be locally produced by Live Nation, Roc Nation and DPS on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and will benefit local United Way organizations. For the first time this year, the City of Los Angeles, California, will also host a companion "Budweiser Made in America" Festival on Labor Day weekend.
Shawn "Jay Z" Carter will once again curate the blockbuster roster of nearly 50 performers who embody the diverse American musical spirit. The artists will perform on four stages (the Rocky, Liberty, Freedom and Skate stages) along the Parkway in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31. Gates open at 12:00 P.M. on both days. On Saturday, performances are scheduled to begin at 2:00 P.M. and conclude at 11:59 P.M., and on Sunday, performances will begin at 2:00 P.M. and end at 11:00 P.M. The City of Philadelphia will provide operational support for the festival.

Festival ticket-holders, cultural institution visitors and those with business on the Parkway are all welcome to take part in a relaxing weekend of holiday fun.As the original city to host Made in America, Philadelphia has established a successful national model. The festival has now become a bi-coastal event which brings a new tradition of Made in America to even more music fans across the country."
The Budweiser Made in America Festival in Philadelphia will benefit United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and United Way of Lancaster County. The Festival's primary goal is to have a positive impact on the communities involved. Money invested in these communities will positively impact the education, income and health of the most vulnerable and needy citizens in these regions. As a result of last year's festival, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is investing more than $300,000 into education and workforce development initiatives. The L.A. festival will benefit United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

Road Closures (Click Here for map) To accommodate the venue construction and two-day festival, a process of gradual road closures along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and in key sections of the Fairmount neighborhood will begin today, with street closings increasing each day. The full set of closures are scheduled to be implemented by 10 A.M. on Friday, August 29. The full extent of these closures will be in place until Tuesday, September 2.
Delays can be expected and motorists are advised to avoid the area by using alternate routes, and allow for extra driving time in the areas near these festivities before and during Labor Day weekend. Please refrain from double-parking, which creates congestion, limits traffic flow and is illegal.
There are three phases of road closures associated with the construction of the Festival site that are in effect, now through Tuesday, September 2 nd. A detailed list of closures is below:

Public Transportation and Paid Parking Due to Made in America event preparations, SEPTA Bus Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, and 43 will be detoured around the festival area, beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 29 through early-morning on Monday, September 2. Specific route detours are posted on the System Status Page at www.septa.org
Extra late-night service also will be available on SEPTA's Regional Rail Lines on Saturday and Sunday Nights departing Center City. Suburban and 30th Street Stations are in closest walking distance to the festival. Festival participants also can use the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Lines. Train service will operate for 24 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, replacing the usual Nite Owl Bus Service. Trains operate every 20 minutes, between midnight and 5:00 A.M., with additional frequencies before and after those times. Race-Vine and City Hall stations on the Broad Street Line and 15th Street Station on the Market Frankford Line provide easy walking access to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. PHLASH transportation is an inexpensive way to visit key attractions in Center City ($2 per ride or $5 all-day) and the Parkway vicinity. If driving is necessary, commercial off-street parking lots and garages conveniently are located on or near the Parkway. Cultural Institutions Most of the cultural institutions in the Benjamin Franklin Parkway vicinity will maintain normal hours of operation and, in some cases, even extend schedules during the Budweiser Made in America Festival and throughout Labor Day weekend, except for the Moore College of Art & Design (closed Labor Day weekend) and the Rodin Museum (closed August 30 and August 31, and reopening on Labor Day, September 1). The Rodin Museum is under the operation of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Parking, either free or paid, is available directly at or near the institutions; however, using public transportation is strongly encouraged. During the Budweiser Made in America Festival, the west entrance of the museum will be open and visitors may obtain access via pathways north and south of this entrance. The east entrance east steps and Spring Garden tunnel will not be open. The Museum's visitor shuttle will not be in service. No access to Art Museum Drive will be available from 25th Street (security will only provide access for deliveries and visitors with ADA tags). Police will direct Art Museum staff and visitors to the Waterworks Drive entrance for access to surface lot parking and garage entry.

Venue Details and Public Safety Information The vicinity of the festival on the Parkway will be firmly secured and protected for maximum public safety. The enclosed event boundaries are: 20th Street, from Pennsylvania Avenue to Park Town Place; Pennsylvania Avenue, from 20th to 25th streets; the south side of Eakins Oval, from Martin Luther King Drive to 24th Street, and Park Towne Place, from 24th to 20th streets.
Throughout the concert weekend, the City will provide a strong presence of law enforcement and emergency medical services. The City and Budweiser Made in America officials will utilize a network of prevention and response services, which will be integrated, mobile, and in constant communication.
The Budweiser Made in America venue features three entrances/exits for ticket-holders during the two-day festival. The main entrance is at 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. A second general admission entrance is at 23rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. A third entrance for VIP Ticket Holders is at 24th Street and Martin Luther King Drive at Eakins Oval. Re-entry to the venue will NOTbe permitted on either day.
Access to the venue is limited to strictly Festival ticket-holders, who will be subject to searches and pat-downs before being permitted inside the venue to ensure the enjoyment and safety of everyone at the Festival. Ticket holders should be prepared for additional searches inside the venue at the discretion of Festival security staff. Spectators are strongly discouraged from carrying bags, backpacks, or satchels of any kind. All bags are subject to search.
If you are attending the Festival activities, make a plan regarding driving, public transit, parking, supervision of children and wearing comfortable attire.
Leave no bags or items unattended. In an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity or item (a backpack, a package, a container), notify a police officer immediately or call 9-1-1. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item.
Items allowed inside the venue include: - Factory-sealed plastic water bottles 1 per person up to 1 liter. - Empty plastic water containers 1 per person up to 64 ouncesfor re-use at water refill stations. - Drinking water will be available for purchase and there will be water stations for re-filling bottles. - One small non-framed backpack or bag subject to search and re-search (all bags will be tagged) - Blankets and towels - Umbrellas (small hand-held only) - Non-professional cameras, flip-cams, camera phones - Sunscreen, sunglasses, government issued I.D., cash/debit cards/credit cards (all are encouraged).
Items NOT allowed inside the venue include but are not limited to: - Weapons and contraband of any kind (regardless of permitting, e.g. Right-to-Carrypermits will not be honored and weapons will be confiscated) - Fireworks or explosives - Illegal or illicit substances of any kind - Outside food & beverages (except factory-sealed water bottles) - Pets (except trained service animals) - Flyers, handbills, posters, stickers (no solicitation allowed) - Chairs - Glass containers - Skateboards, motorized vehicles or scooters - Coolers - Professional recording devices or cameras (no detachable lenses or tripods meant for commercial use) - Fluorescent plastic lights (glow sticks) - Laser pointers - Items that would obstruct others' view of the stages (kites, flag poles, large signs, etc.)
Missing or lost persons can report to a security location, which will be identified on the Parkway.
Lost and Found items can be taken to various InformationTents throughout the venue.
"Location markers" will be posted to clearly and easily identify a location or section (by letter and number, example: KK-1) to facilitate communicating in the event of an emergency.
Information booths on the Parkway and an EMS First Aid station (with misting tents for heat-exhaustion cases) will be identified onsite.Labor Day weekend 2014 is expected to be hot, festival attendees are strongly encouraged to carry water and stay hydrated.
