Hi, my name is Preston Carey. I’m a seasonal intern at The Mann Center reaching out to your association to provide free tickets to A Space Odyssey Presented by PNC Arts Alive with The Philadelphia Orchestra.  Pack a picnic, relax with family and sit under the stars on Tuesday, July 25. This evening is a tribute concert to Colonel Guion Bluford, Jr. the first African American in space, who will be honored onstage during this out-of-this-world concert experience. Highlights include John Williams’, “Adventures on Earth” from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Leonard Bernstein’s “Balcony Scene”, from West Side Story, Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity”from The Planets, and many more.

In terms of our mission, The Mann strives to not only provide high-quality entertainment, but also to be a valued asset to our Fairmount Park neighbors and to the Greater Philadelphia region. Please extend our invitation to all in your association to enjoy an evening of music under the stars on our beautiful Great Lawn. The web address below can be used to register for complimentary tickets to A Space Odyssey.

Summertime at the Mann is a beautiful season; flowers bloom before our eyes just as the season’s musical performances slowly change from ideas into realities. It is truly exciting for many, including myself.

We hope to see you there!
